Protect our Island water

Think it is very important to not take our resources for granted, and that they.ll always be there.

Water is precious, a natural resource that should be protected for now and the long future. Our well water has gotten very silty in the last few years, not a good sign.

Please do not allow our water to be sold, we already have issues on Winter River from the amount that Charlottetown draws. The new well field in Milton Station is on an important Atlantic Salmon spawning river and will soon hurt the population of Salmon on the Coles Brook branch of the North River. Now there will possibly be another impact on an important Atlantic Salmon river the West River. The fish farm (Ocean Trout Farms) already impacts this river enough, do we really need to cause more environmental degradation to our rivers?

Imperative to protect our water for today and our many tomorrows

I am so concerned about our water's quality that we are installing a complete filtering system.....BUT I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO. Our well water should be clean and in abundance. Protect this precious natural resource please and stop deep wells for irrigation.

Please don't allow the bottling of our water on PEI to happen.

If there was any time crucial for stepping up your leadership....now would be time to show forward thinking. Please protect our Island's precious water. NOT FOR SALE!

Please do your best at keeping your beloved island pure.

Additionally, many jurisdictions are recognizing that the bottled water business is not environmentally friendly -- transportation costs, manufacture of plastic bottles from petroleum products, disposal of empty bottles, etc. In many instances tap water can substitute quite readily.

Please protect our water not just for ourselves but for our children and their children.

Please keep our water permenantly out of exports and do not give the right to industry to sell our water in large quantities. Government scientists use models to predict the quantity of water we have, therefore no one actually knows if there is or is not enough water to sustain PEI indefinitely. Do not risk our health and our livlihoods for profit.

This is a very serious issue. Show leadership by protecting our water.

If we are struggling to supply our communities, it is ridiculous to even consider allowing this.

Please put the well-being of the Island and Islanders ahead of private interests. Our water is a vital resource and has to be managed with care, intelligence, and foresight.

Please stop this water bottling plant. We depend on our ground water to survive and water is a public right. Also bottled water around the world is being banned except in emergencies.

Island water is our most precious natural resource. It should not be viewed as a commodity for sale to benefit a select few financially.

Water is not a commodity. It as essential as air.
