Community Petition to Support Conditional Use Permit for D&D Mini-Ranch
To: Town of Queen Creek Planning and Zoning Commission
Subject: Support for Conditional Use Permit Application for D&D Mini-Ranch
We, the undersigned residents, neighbors, and supporters of the Queen Creek community respectfully submit this petition in strong support of D&D Mini-Ranch’s application for a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) for the continued operational and development of an agricultural, educational, and working dog facility.
D&D Mini-Ranch, located in the Ellsworth Mini Farms area, represents a valuable asset to our community by promoting agricultural heritage, providing educational opportunities, and preserving our rural way of life. The facility offers:
- Agricultural education and demonstration showcasing ethical livestock management and conservation breeding practices (including St. Croix sheep and cattle partnerships)
- Family-friendly events and youth engagement creating safe educational experiences for all ages to learn about ranching and working dogs
- Preservation of open space and rural character, maintaining the charm and values that define Queen Creek
- Support for local agriculture helping to sustain our ranching traditions while encouraging responsible land use.
Granting this Conditional Use Permit will allow D&D Mini-Ranch to continue serving as a hub for community enrichment, educational programs, and agricultural preservation, in alignment with Queen Creek’s General Plan goals of promoting agritourism, open space, and heritage conservation.
Without the approval of our Conditional Use Permit, we will no longer be able to host stockdog trials at D&D Mini-Ranch.
We believe D&D Mini-Ranch enhances the fabric of our town and respectfully urge the Planning and Zoning Commission, along with the Town Council, to approve their Conditional Use Permit application.
Protect Our Heritage: Together, let’s support responsible land use and preserve Queen Creek’s agricultural legacy for future generations.
