Protect our Freedom of Speech - Retract the Amendment to the Code of Conduct!

We must protect our Freedom of Speech in Canada. It is protected as a 'fundamental freedom' by Section 2 of the Canadian Charter of Rights & Freedoms. However, at the latter part of 2016, the Sarnia City Council passed a motion to AMEND the Code of Conduct (with a 5:4 vote; the Mayor and 3 councillors voting AGAINST it)We must protect our Freedom of Speech in Canada. It is protected as a 'fundamental freedom' by Section 2 of the Canadian Charter of Rights & Freedoms. However, at the latter part of 2016, the Sarnia City Council passed a motion to AMEND the Code of Conduct, trying to muzzle our Mayor and anyone else with something important to say or do. Sarnia wants their democracy back and for the Mayor to be able to govern our City in the way we elected him to do, and the way in which he has governed for the last 28 years. The people who are being overbearing and offensive is city council. How dare they tell me how I must talk and phrase my displeasure.

Code of conduct needs to be rescinded. Councillors, as everyone else, have the right to free speech, opinions and comments!!!!!
The Sarnia City Council members, ANNE MARIE GILLIS, BEV MACDOUGAL, MATT MITRO, BRIAN WHITE WHO VOTED IN FAVOUR OF THIS have NO RIGHT to take away ANYONES' FREEDOM OF SPEACH. They went to far with this one.

This bylaw is reminiscent of one you would find in a totalitarian state and has no place in our democracy.
