While on the one hand, I feel that this petition may be premature, on the other hand, I would not put it past the LDS church to do everything that they can to use this street to suppress an open dialog upon the area.

A public street that will continue to be used as a public street should not be sold to a corporation just so they have the right to block freedom of speech and expression. It would be WRONG no matter how you slice it, even if you disagree with those who occupy the space. And don't show my name because I will receive backlash if my Mormon family or friends find out I signed this.

As a Mormon, I loved the free speech zone. It was one of the only places in Manti where it was okay to express and explore my doubts and concerns regarding religion.

The Mormons hate free speech, and this is their mafia style answer to it. The Manti local government, and most Utah in general, is a theocracy that must be dismantled permanently for true freedom to exist.
