Healthy soil is essential for a healthy planet. The USDA "organic" label should mean organic according to nature, not "organic" according to legislature. Real, healthy, naturally nourished and crop-rotated GOOD DIRT.

If you need fertilizer from fossil fuels to make it grow it’s not organic. I want real organic food.

When this "Is hydroponically grown organic?" question first came up, I said that hydroponic is NOT organic. It cannot be by definition. Soil is a living organism on its own. Hydroponic feeding is not anything like organic. I favor Rudolf Steiner's thoughts on farming. I also acknowledge the more recent findings of how trees use the living soil to communicate with other trees. Organic soil is alive and an integral part of the most healthy way to grow our crops and feed our livestock. Hydro just isn't any of this.

Excellent presentation of the disconnect inherent in the conflict re hydroponics being declared organic by the NOSB.

No soil = not organic.
