Our family always feels healthier when we travel abroad, because Europe does a better job of protecting its consumers. Their food is purer. Why can't we do the same? Don't put profit above lives.

Why is the USDA constantly weakening—or just not enforcing—its organic certification? Is it because there are large traditional growers like Driscoll pushing/lobbying to weaken these laws? How about standing up for the right thing, the right of consumers not to eat foods treated or grown dishonestly? If consumers really don't care about eating healthy, then why do you need to weaken standards and avoid honest labeling?

I demand that you follow the Organic Food Production Act. Hydroponically-grown fruits and vegetables are not organic. Thank you for acting in the best interests of organic growers and Americans.

Working to provide a safe alternative to conventional production is difficult enough for organic farmers, without having to cope with others whom one would hope is on the same page. Sometimes it seems like the vaunted American entrepreneurial spirit gets people so carried away they lose sight of the larger goals. We long ago chose to buy only organic but I don't buy "organic" unless the coop can tell me about the source. We need to get together on this.

It's not possible to have the biome needed for healthy and nutritious crops in hydroponics. The organic movement has always been to preserve food the way Nature, not man, intended. Changing this is stripping us of a fundamental human right

How can something be labelled "organic" if it isn't even grown in soil?
