Protect Scottsdale's Farmers Market and Old Adobe Mission
The petition is closed due to submission to the Scottsdale City Clerk's Office today, March 19, 2026, for inclusion as an agenda item at the City Council meeting scheduled for March 24, 2026. Combined with the signatures collected on paper a total of over 4,500 Scottsdale residents and property owners signed the petition. I will be making a presentation at the City Council meeting, and I hope many of you will sign-up on the city's website to make a written or spoken comment in support (google Scottsdale City Council Agenda's and Meetings). Thank you all for participating in supporting the petition. - Steve Sutton
Scottsdale Resident Petition to the Scottsdale City Council
We, the undersigned Scottsdale residents, petition the City Council to cancel plans to build a garage extension at the Brown Avenue Parking Corral. We are telling you:
- Do not move the Farmers Market from its current location to the inconvenient City Hall parking lot.
- Do not risk causing the Farmers Market to leave Scottsdale due to an insufficiently profitable location.
- Do not harm Old Town businesses that benefit from sharing the Farmers Market’s Customers.
- Do not degrade Historic Old Town’s resident, visitor, and customer attracting charm and ambience.
- Do not disrespect the cultural significance of Old Adobe Mission, Scottsdale’s oldest standing church.
- Do not damage Old Town business revenues with months of garage construction activity.
- Do not waste $15,000,000 to $20,000,000 on an unnecessary Parking Corral garage extension.
