This is an historic site and should be preserved in its natural surroundings. The history of our County is precious and requires top priority in its preservation. Encroachment upon and destruction of historical sites/ landmarks can never be undone once enacted.

It is critical to preserve our history and reflect on the sacrifices of Americans. Students are ignorant of what others have done. Sites have to be preserved so that students and adults can see the sites and action that shaped our county and the area. Let us honor those who sacrificed for what they believed in. Build elsewhere.

The County, State, Battlefield Trust and others need to organize and purchase the land that is needed to protect Mt. Zion. That is the only way you can be assured it won't develop. NVPA also needs to be involved. Step up and ask for contributions.
