Protect Lansing's Gardens and Pollinators

These outdated ordinances need to go. Beautiful gardens capture rainwater and prevent flooding, improve the local ecosystem, and beautify our properties. So much better than plain grass in every way.

These plants are essential to our ecosystems. They also bring beauty and addition to every property making homes more presentable.

Quick! Everyone look at what Common Sense looks like. This is it. Do this.

Agree with most of the change requests. Firewood stacked outside should be raised to avoid infestation by rodents etc. Please allow for pollinator gardens and the use of leaves as mulch to protect these areas. Natural materials should be allowed as raised beds, fencing and other garden defines. Better than using treated lumber which could leach harmful materials into the soil.

We can do better for the community and the environment. Please update the ordinances and look into other communities' programs to address this, such as the City of Ann Arbor Pollinator-Aware Yard Care.

It's time for Lansing to update their ordinances. We know much more about gardening in a way that HELPS our environment, and we need city ordinances that reflect that knowledge.

Creative gardens, especially gardens between the sidewalk and the street attract me to a neighborhood. There are many beautiful front hard gardens throughout the city. Please upgrade the ordinances.

This is unacceptable.

Protect our gardens and take reasonable measures to update ordinances so cues of care can differentiate between waste and useful materials.

The compliance department has evolved into a tool for harassment. They keep lousy records, so previous agreements disappear into smoke. Just one more thing in a long list of poor governance in this city.
