I am primarily a spot Fly fisherman and mostly practice Catch and Release and only take some Crappie For A Fest Meal Once OR Twice A year.
I do value to resource of the public water and the sport that the catching of fish provide us. It seem senseless to harvest that quantity of fish. Catchfish of thst are not the best eating anyway.
if people can't use good judgment then they should regulate it.

catfish dont bread till they are around 7-10 lbs so why not put a limit on your breading stock to keep it health with box fish I say you should be able to keep one per day that is over 10lbs let those larger fish live and spawn to keep the number of keep fish 1-3 lb up by taking the larger fish it will destroy the cat population just look at Belotn lake it was a great cat lake 10-12 years a go and my letting people keep those larger fish it has destroyed the blue population i use to be able go out and catch 17-20 keeps now i am lucky if i can manage 6 per trip
