Protect “Good Medical Practice” in Australia: safeguard the Medical Board Code of Conduct.

The integrity of each and every Doctor in service to the public or private sector's lie within Medical ethics and Code of conduct... Freedom of speech is part of the consultation.

What is happening to our country that now even doctors cannot give patients the best advice they can offer. If the patients don't like it, they can go to another doctor, just as it has always been.

We trust the doctors we have chosen. Implementing these questionable new rules will bring about uncertainty and insecurity on the part of the patient regarding the doctor. How will we know we are getting the whole truth?

These changes are evil destroying a Dr's right to his/her own moral opinon/view/assessment. In other words Freedom of Speech.

We want to vote for the good values of ages passed. They were good then, and they are good now, and Dr David van Gend epitomizes these values. Please can AHPRA confine themselves to the good and real code of conduct of doctors that truly matter to our Australian society.

Australians fought and died for our freedoms of speech and you are trying some despotic legislation to take it away. Shame on your unAustralian act!

AHPRA, why are you picking on Dr David van Gend? After reading various different media it seems to me that it is highly probable that there is someone else whispering in your ears on the side. You need to take a look at this objectively and note it for what it is.

The Code of Conduct Australian doctors have followed since Federation must remain in place. Any other form of Code of Conduct that in any way impedes a doctor being free to act according to the dictates of his own conscience must never be allowed, supported or in any way even recommended. If a patient disagrees with Doctor's recommendation then that patient must be free to go to a Doctor who agrees with the Patient's requests. In a nutshell, the new Code of Conduct removes freedom to act from Doctors which is exactly the same ideology being forced and propagated that patients must be free to act it must be the same freedom for Doctors as it must be for Patients. People cannot have their cake and eat it as well!!!!!!!!!

Freedom of conscience must be protected.

Doctors must retain the right to give medical advice based on their years of study and experience in the field. To muzzle them is to damage health care.

It must be something sinister otherwise why mess with what is already working well

We need to be on guard always in a pluralistic society of one group claiming moral monopoly over everyone else. Only the individual has rights, not institutions.

These changes will threaten all the ethical principles of the medical industry

These changes will endanger human life

I do not like what the changes will force doctors to do in society, It will be detrimental to good medical ethics.

Please safeguard the Medical Board Code of Conduct

This is simply an attempt to silence conscientious comment. Another attack on free speech.

Freedom of conscience must be protected.

I feel that all Australian medical doctors and nurses should be allowed to have their own opinion in their daily life, away from the medical practice and even at their medical practice they should not be forced to do things that they know are wrong..

Freedom of speech is for everyone not just the few
