The Australian Christians political party's aim is that each Australian, no matter how old or young, strong or frail, receives the very best protection and support, and also the opportunity to contribute to others in life-affirming ways.
Doctors also need the freedom to continue to work within good medical practice and what they believe to be truth. We need to value freedom of conscience and the independence of clinical decision-making for doctors, and for medical safety and informed decision-making for patients.

I disagree that only the patient or the family of a patient can determine what is culturally safe / appropriate. As a doctor, my decisions must always be informed by the patient / their family / their culture but my decision making should not be mandated by it as there are many factors outside of an individual's culture which come into play in determining Best Practice / Good Medicine

It is very important that doctors be able to practice according to their conscience. Being required to act against conscience is very concerning and dangerous. There needs to be the possibility of a broad range of beliefs being held by doctors, with the ability to discuss and explain recommendations working in a general ethical framework of beneficence, do no harm, respect and cultural awareness. The 2009 wording allows this. The proposed wording does not.

Our code of practice should always be rooted in our Judeo-Christian foundation, and that foundation is the unchanging Word of God, the Bible. To change this to fit in with some mythical and unproven ideology that belies the sexual normalcy found in the Bible is foolish in the extreme.

My Wife and I do not approve of any change being made to the Medical Board recommendations. They need to abide by the Ethical principles in the Hippocratic Oath.

I find the proposed changes to the existing Code of Conduct deeply disturbing and would be greatly relieved to see them overturned.

Doctors have the serious responsibility of caring for their patients according to the principles of the natural moral law, and the correct ethics that flow from those principles. Doctors should never be subjected by means of legislated human positive law to the anti God, anti human and anti family radicals who want to impose on others their own personal agendas, political or otherwise.

Some cultures allow mutilation of body parts as socially acceptable . Doctors should be allowed to advise the contrary if this not clinically needed.

Do no harm! A doctor is not God. Even a collection of doctors is not God. The actions or advice of a doctor should do no intentional harm to any patient, or anyone else.
The practice of medicine should not cause a doctor to believe he or she is permitted to value one life as greater or less than another. Similarly, the policy of the medical fraternity should be designed to promote the protection of all, regardless of the stage of life a person or a group of people has reached. A doctor has a position of privilege and responsibility, but this position does not come with the power to decide the value of a life.

Leave the code as it is. This is just another case of the Government trying to control doctors and eventually other professionals, This move is probably a result of the unscientific changes sweeping our society such as S.S. M. , gender fluidity and transgenderism.
