This whole thing is just making it impossible to check people in. Renters hate the extra forms and I dont blame them one bit.

My rental prices are already high enough with gas and maintenance. Now insurance wants another cut? This is gonna kill my business before the season even starts.

This act adds more red tape to an already tedious checkout process.

While this intent was to help curb people renting boats the wrong way in the Miami area, it is instead creating a huge burden on companies already doing things the right way. As law abiding operators, we will be paying the price for this insurance requirement, in the mean time, the people who this bill was originally meant to address will still be breaking the law without consequence because there isn't even enough officers on the water to enforce this properly.

This law or statute is nothing more than a scam for the insurance companies

Like so many laws form bureaucrats, in the pursuit of "safety" these laws in actuality cause unnecessary financial and logistical burdens & distractions for business. Instead of providing relevant tools they keep us from focusing on safety aspects that are actually practical and based in reality.

I like the fact that FWC and the Coast Guard are taking action to make our waters safe. However the additional insurance for vendors is an unnecessary burden.

From an insurance perspective, this bill is nearly impossible. I understand the intent and would be happy to provide input in the reconstruction of the bill.
