We have lost several cats to people driving too fast. Our latest cat has recently disappeared and we fear it has been killed but we may never know as it does not have to be reported.but it should. This poor cat has already had major surgery thanks to a car running it over When it was young, then reversing back at high speed Supposedly to finish the job off- fortunately our neighbour saw the incident so the driver sped off! How is treating any animal like that acceptable!

I live in Laxey with a cat of my own, and the fear that one day she just won't come home and will be left to die on the roadside is absolutely awful. It's about time the law was changed

The pain and cruelty they are suffering needs to stop and the perpetrators held accountable for the consequences.

Had to lay out a cat at the side of the road after a car knowingly hit a beautiful ginger tom on the oppositie carriageway and the driver just drove off.

Anything we can do to reduce the number of cats killed on our roads is good news.

I have two cats and would hate it if one of mine got hit, and was just left.

This should be done.....a cat is a living, breathing animal, very often beloved of it's family. Of course they should be notified if the worst happened.

I have a cat and would be devastated if anything happened and I didn’t know.
