As my father would say with his subtle wit, "They aren't makin' land anymore..." once it is "developed", it isn't going back to producing food for out families and the world. Shame on the short sided, greed mongers. If this is such a good idea, rejuvenate South Bend's West Side to the city limits....

This is some of the best soil in the country. If you have to have economic development grow more food; organic blueberries and grapevines surrounded by woods and wetlands and bike trails and wineries, from South Bend to Lake Michigan. Otherwise, leave it alone and let us have the clean air, clean water, shady forests and rich wetlands, migrating birds and wildlife. Please.

Heart breaking to think that the land my grandfathers worked so hard to acquire and farm...that my father and mother struggled to maintain...and that my husband is striving to pay taxes and maintain to pass on to our children and grandchildren is being lusted after by greedy nature haters. The Sauk Native Trail ran across this land. May God save us.

I live in St. Jo County (Mishawaka).

Please consider the lives of citizens and preserve open areas, land for good agricultural crops, and clean water resources.

Don't live there but concerned for all such areas in Indiana.

I love the open country surrounding South Bend. We have to fight the pollution and the loss of habitat to wild animals and plants that accompany industrial and housing development.

New Carlisle does not anymore big industry. Last time I checked we live is the USA. Farmers were here long before and shouldn’t be forced to sell their land.

Keep farm land as farm land. We don't need more factories in St. Joseph County.
