It's outrageous to consider removing opioid coverage for chronic pain patients. And going after the Medicaid patients first is disgusting. It's obvious that you are targeting the poor. The people least able to lawyer up and fight back. I'm ashamed of all of you. I'm ashamed to be an Oregonian.

I live in pain every day. I had surgrey on my Pancreas. Never thought I would be in more pain than I already am in. Would love to see the people making these laws live in my shoes for 7 days. They could not handle the kinda of pain I am in. STOP PUNISHING THOSE THAT NEED PAIN MEDS! Let Doctors do their jobs!!! Goverment needs to stay out of health care.

My father has lived with severe chronic pain for a decade. When he got his medicine he was able to participate in life. No he lays in bed unable to function He is considering using illegal drugs and or suicide. Is this whats supposed to happen to our weakest most vunerable citizens. Junkies will always get thier dope, always have and always will. Just walk thru dntwn Portland on any night after dark. The congress women is a complete fool!

I'm a chronic pain patient and rely on opiods to function as a somewhat broken person. If you tske away the opiods, I'll never to be able to get out of bed. I only take 2 extended release pills and 2 fir breakthrough pain. I don't think that that's considered excessive for as much pain as I endure. A lot if it was caused by a Surgeon's botched spinal surgery. I just want to be a productive part if society, but if the opiods are taken away, I'll be nothing but a vegetable laying in bed, having a hard time getting up. I might as well not have a life than.

I have been a pain management patient for over 30 years. My hydrocodone Rx has been reduced to half of what it originally was. I have had degenerative disk disease, fibromyalgia, and migraines during this time period. I have never used illegal drugs and don't drink. I had my first grand mal seizure at age 15. I am a disabled research librarian, who has a master's degree from the University of Illinois (1980).

Being a chronic pain patient, I have 5 conditions that take away my quality of life. I have been refused pain medicine, after 9 months of high doses, cold turkey. Kentucky is number one in overdoses. Pain meds gave been denied foe over 2 years now, but yet they still keep rising. The real statistics are misleading. 9% of overdoses are pill related. 23% are heroin/opiate. 68% methamphetamines, and other. Pain patients are being criminalized, stigmatized, and degraded. 84 year old family member, who has been on pain medicine for years, tapered the removed. She no longer gardens, and her quality of life is now the bed. She has been on them 22 years. Never arrested. Stopped going to church. It's pitiful. Please don't punish patients who need pain medicine to help with living a life of movement, with some relief of pain, to unable to work because the pain is unbearable.

I am a incurable unfixable Person with lifelong pain.

All options should be available whether it's continued medication and all other options listed above. Such as massage, acupuncture, etc.

This would directly affect the quality of life of chronic pain sufferers. Opioids are still legal to prescribe and effective in managing pain. Now, it seems the poor will be told that Oregon doesn't care if ur in pain, tough it out, so sorry, too bad.

Have fibromyalgia and SLE Lupus and I am now bedridden due to lowering of pain meds anymore would clearly cause much more suffering I would be forced into assisted living and I would rather die. I live alone without any children or help

This is inhumane and a violation of the UN's policy that "EVERYONE is entitled to pain medications for the relief of pain, and to deny that is a violation of basic human rights!" The Human Rights Watch is doing an investigation into US Pain Treatment because when they were investigating Palliative Care they said they were hearing stories like they did in 3rd world countries from torture victims! It will be out later this year. We wouldn't let our pets suffer in pain, but it's OK to let human beings withe in agony and finally kill themselves because they could not endure excruciating pain???? What has happened to our society? No compassion or empathy. EVERYONE AT SOME POINT IS JUST AN ACCIDENT DISEASE SURGERY OR DISORDER AWAY FROM JOINING THE PAIN COMMUNITY! IF YOU PREVENT PEOPLE FROM GETTING OPIOIDS FOR PAIN RELIEF YOU OR YOUR LOVED ONES WILL EXPERIENCE THE AGONY THAT WE DO!

I would love to stop my pain medication. I would love to stop my chronic pain. Unfortunately, just like diabetes or cancer, the solution to curing my condition has not yet been resolved. I'm already implementing every possible option to pain meds and even though I've been able to reduce it by about half, we've found nothing beyond that at this point to address the rest of the pain. My life would be so miserable that I would go from a giving, positive person who can at least partake in some of the normal activities in life to one who would choose to no longer want live due to the torture of unrelenting pain. The reality is this is not addressing those who need what these medications were made for in the first place.

I have been dealing with chronic pain and fatigue for 18 years. Already been there with different tactics with only fentanyl working. Barely. Anxious for cbd ect. To try. By the time WVa let's go who knows. I am not addicted. We should not be punished for what others do.

I am terrified that other states may soon follow this stupid thing that Oregon is about to do! I feel for all my pain 'chronic pain brothers and sisters'! I too suffer from chronic pain-I would not want to live with out them.
