I have chronic pain syndrome, and I rely on Norco to be able to walk and function. Please don’t take away our “crutches” our narcotics. We are not addicts but are Dependent on our medications thank you

I am not a resident of Oregon but tapering is not the answer for cpp. The abuse is not our fault and we as true suffering individuals should not be limited any more than we already are. We just get to where after years and years on different meds, herbs, and natural remedies we have found a little relief and now these people come in and make these ridiculous choices for us when they haven't walked one day in our shoes. I don't write in often as the whole situation makes me sick to my stomach. I can only hope law makers make the correct choice.

Please do not punish the weakest most vulnerable segment of our society due to the choices of people who CHOOSE to ABUSE illegal drugs. We didn't CHOOSE to be afflicted with several horrendously painful diseases, so why would our government CHOOSE to take away the only form of relief we can get to have a somewhat normal quality of life? We deserve to be treated with the same respect and dignity as those who suffer from addiction. Why are our lives not just as important ? This proposal is downright DISGRACEFUL and TORTUROUS & a violation of our human rights. I find it reprehensible that our government is attempting to practice medicine without a license. These decisions should be between patients and their doctors, NOT by some arbitrary third party who has no training or knowledge of our medical history. Please stay out of our doctors office and let them treat their patients on an individual autonomous basis as they see fit. Together, we must put an end to the WAR ON PAIN PATIENTS!

So glad I tried so hard too survive the 5 rear ending car wrecks that happened too me over a period of 25 years 1 st was crying and driving because she was getting divorced only 25,000 in insurance had too have a cervical surgery and hip surgery not enough insurance too pay my medical bills let alone a settlement 2 nd was drunk driving at 943 on a Thursday morning and did not lose his licence had everything incorporated was worth 6.4 million only 12,500 in insurance did not have too pay any more then his insurance for another broken neck a broken foot and a broken wrist 3rd was excessive speed already on high risk and lied too the police also underinsured broke my neck at a different level then the 1 st two broken necks leading too 2 more cevical surgeries an elbow surgery no settlement 4 th was also excessive speed got out of the car and said she had just picked her car up from a body shop because she had caused a wreck 2 weeks before hitting me took out all of the surgeries I had from the previous rear endings and caused a new one also 3 disks in my low back and a knee surgery I was partially paralyzed for 6 months this time I received a 25,000 settlement for the injuries she caused me.had too have 2 more cervicle surgeries and a low back surgery underinsured again and I was deemed permanently disabled and inoperable I have lost a lot in my life from careless people then in 2015 I got rear ended by the 5 th and final driver this one was drunk reading a lottery ticket and driving and knew the police by name and got no ticket and did not lose her licence I was alive but the next 9 months were too get me just too the place too be heathy enough and find a surgeon experienced enough too do the surgery or die even though I was inoperable she broke my neck once again in 7 levels I have fought too live so hard It was too be the most painful and worst surgery I had done so far the risk was off the charts as too weather I would live or not and if I did woul

I think the government should stay out of what doctors write for pain medication and let them decide what medication might work. They are being ordered to write prescriptions for antidepressants for chronic pain which does nothing for the chronic pain

Government needs to stay out of the matters and ways doctors treat patients with and for pain relief. Opioid therapy has been proven to help with pain relief, mental stability once pain relief is achieved and helps people to continue working.

Not all chronic pain patients are "addicts." They are dependent and develop tolerance, just as many other patients do on other medications used for long-term treatment. Douglas County force-tapered all their OHP patients back in 2013 and left them hanging because they refused to pay for those "active" therapies until over a year later, but then put limits on them. Most chronic pain patients have already done all these therapies and more. Since this is more about a cost issue that the state doesn't want to pay for anymore, let us start holding other patients accountable for their actions and inactions that also cost the state millions of dollars a year. When that diabetic keeps eating the wrong foods, doesn't exercise, and fails to lose weight, why don't we start penalizing them? They are doing everything wrong and it costs the state a lot of money to keep them alive when what they are truly doing is eating themselves to death. How about the cardiac patients who get bypasses and other surgeries but continue to smoke? Why not refuse to give them further surgery or even medications when they choose to smoke themselves to death? How about the alcoholics who are drinking themselves to death but get treatments for their liver disease that they caused and continue to cause by their abuse of a legal drug? Quit spending millions of dollars on cholesterol lowering drugs when those people refuse to change their diets. You can't eat whatever you want and just take a magic pill to correct your fat intake. It's time to hold all these patients and others, more responsible for their continued poor choices that cost the government billions over the years. This is where you can really save the BIG MONEY! Oregon could also save millions a year if they quit paying providers for visits that are fraudulently documented just to get paid more per visit. My concerns come from someone who abides by the rules and follows them as said in signed contract. Yet I'm being punished because of the addicts. That just don't seem fair. Where are my rights for doing the right thing. Because of the heroin addicts, i'm being punished. Something needs to change. If you experienced the pain that I have been in. You would know why I take pain medication. Now they want to take me off of them because other people abuse heroin and fetenol patches. I've never been on those things either of them. I think they need to take a look at how many patients have died by taking their medications as prescribed. Please

I have been a chronic pain sufferer with multiple conditions, SLE, FMS, severe daily migraines, degenerative disc disease, endometriosis & was taken off my opioids 3 years ago when I had to change doctors. Since that time I have been in unbearable pain. I have tried everything, alternative treatments, other medications which just made me feel like a zombie, gain 80 lbs, which I recently lost because I stopped the medication. I have a hard time taking care of my daughter alone, doing household work, grocery shopping, feeding myself. I need to have better care. Pain medication & not be treated like an addict by every doctor I see. It's wrong! I deserve to live a better life. Please stop punishing pain patients!!

My 36 year old daughter got a new doctor who took over for her doctor leaving!
My daughter was ripped off her pain meds the 1st time she was seen..
She had fibromyalgia and eds..
Very painful condition. No matter what she said or me this doctor didn't listen!!
Well I truly believe as does her whole family she was murdered!
She had no choice in her mind that the pain was so bad. She screamed for months n months for help! I cried for her. Begged them to help her!
She died from an over the counter diarrhea medicine... not opiates, which helped her, but over the damn counter...
And what did the doctors say? Oh just keep track on how many you take!!
Told them by the handfuls thru the day and just keep track!!
I lost a piece of my heart and will always hurt.
Because opiates are bad!
No!! They would of helped! She wouldn't of hurt so badly. Suffering!!
She left 2 children that loved her! Watched her suffer for no reason!!
Please let the doctors n their patients make the choices! No one should be pressured to stop helping so many more who need them! That's not ethical nor constitutional..
She would of never of died taking her regular amts. prescribed that actually gave her some pain relief!!
