Protect Bothwell Heritage

The plans that have been submitted couldn’t be further away from keeping with the local structures. Bothwell is a conservation village and to have such a large imposing structure over the entrance to the village would be criminal. We have such a pretty and welcoming entrance to the village why would you want to lose that. Away from the aesthetics, We seem to continually increasing the population of the village and not considering the infrastructure to support the increase. Doctors surgery, volume of traffic and speed of traffic through the village, increased intact into the local schools pushing class sizes to a maximum, parking challenges to name a few... none of these seem to be addressed or considered when such developments are at planning stage.

Bothwell is being saturated with buildings and potential building sites. Stop now!!!

This will be the first thing I see when I drive into Bothwell from the M74 - it's not what I associate with the charming character of Bothwell.

No no no....bothwell over populated at present. Not in keeping with a conservation village.

This application has been with SLC planning dept for months and because the suggestion to amend the plans did not suit the company they have sent it to the SG reporter. This is a shocking attack on democratic principles Which are of fundental importance in the democratic process . Hundreds of people oppose this on grounds contained within the SLC development plan.

Objections include: 1) The volume of traffic likely to be generated from the care home is unacceptable for a residential area on a minor road. 2) There is likely to be an adverse impact on traffic in the already busy feeder roads for Old Bothwell Road. There are significant issues already at the Bothwell Bridge traffic lights which will be exacerbated. 3) It is essential that the façade of this building is kept to ensure any change of use alteration is in keeping with other residences in this conservation area. 4) The current Harte Construction building is located in a prominent position and in full view pedestrians and commuters accessing the village and conservation area from Hamilton, Coatbridge, East Kilbride and Glasgow. 5) The cost implications for any developer should not be allowed to over-ride the strict building regulations which apply to a conservation area and thus the Harte Construction building should not be destroyed.

I oppose this development.

Much much to big and visially overpowering for this site. Equally traffic issues will arise due to the scale of activity in and out the site

Totally out of sync with a conservation village. Developers riding roughshod over planning rules and locals.

Totally wrong for the area. No infrastructure to support the traffic it will create. Bothwell fast becoming a traffic nightmare

Shameful, losing our village and wild life for money. Just shameful

The permitted development in Bothwell has gotten out of control. There will soon be no green space left in the village and already the infrastructure struggles to cope with traffic. Building such a large structure whose access will be a narrow residential street is not safe for existing residents.

This will ruin the village

Already far too much traffic/congestion within the bothwell/uddingston area

I strongly object to this development which contravenes bothwell status as a conservation village

Bothwell is struggling with the amount of homes we now have it’s supposed to be a conservation area but that status is slowly diminishing with amount of homes being built. There is also a brand new care home due to open soon beside Bothwell Castle there is no need for this monstrosity as well in the heart of Bothwell
