I pay my property taxes ever year. I take care my property I do not need someone telling me that I am doing it wrong. I do not judge my neighbors nor tell them how they should live. I do not live in a subdivision with a homeowners association and don't wish to. That is why I purchased the property where I did. I wanted property away from the city and subdivision rules. I would not have bought property in Boone County if I known that they were going to treat the county as a subdivision and let people tell you how you should live if it's not to their liking they can complain and cause problems. I have been a beekeeper for 7 years. If someone would complain about my bee equipment that would be a problem for me. I would then have to register as a Bee farmer. Which would probably help with that problem but why should I have to. I've lived in Boone County since 1994. Now you want more control over the residence so you're going to try to make everyone live like they live in the subdivision with rules and an association that can make life miserable.

A code enforcement board will violate private property rights because the rules are so ambiguous it would be left to interpretation as to whether or not a violation has been committed. It will also be redundant because people pay their Home Owner's Association (HOA) fees for code enforcement. HOA boards are elected instead of appointed therefore they have more accountability to the populations they serve and flexibility in changing the rules.
