“O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm in justice, witnesses for God, even if it be against yourselves or parents and relatives. Importance of consultation and its process

Khatib Baghdad: has narrated the following statement of Sayyidina ‘Ali:

"I asked the Holy Prophet that if, after you we face a situation about which neither the Qur'an has any specific ruling, nor have you given any direction, how should we proceed?"

The Holy Prophet replied by saying,

"In such a case, assemble Abidin (the worshipping people) of my Ummah, and decide the matter by mutual consultation; do not take decision on any individual's single opinion."

(Rul-Mani, referring to Khatib)

We need all women of all faiths to come out and support this petition against Domestic Violence. We need all women of faith to rise up and speak out in their places of worship...or speak up against their places of worship that refuse to support this petition.

We have to come together to stop this abuse that is affecting our future generations of children and mothers. Enough is Enough! I am especially speaking to the Muslim Community and also, all Mankind, as it is stated in the Quran:

“Zakah expenditures are only for the poor and for the needy and for those employed to collect and for bringing hearts together and for freeing captives and for those in debt and for the cause of God and for the traveler - an obligation by God. And God is Knowing and Wise.”

FREEING CAPTIVES:

Individuals who have caught behind enemy lines;

Individuals who have been caught in the grips of addiction;

Individuals who are held hostage and abused in relationships;

Individuals who are being held against their will from traveling to a safer environment.

Zakaah is collected in the Masjid, in the form of 2.5 % of our wealth. This is not done according to the practice and instructions of the Quran and the Prophet Muhammad. Every Prophet brought instructions about the collection of wealth from the wealthy in order to take care of the needs of the poor. There must be money set aside for Domestic Violence because these women and children are powerless against their enemies...SICK VIOLENT MEN AND CULTURAL TRADITIONS!!

TRUE STORY

A Muslim woman was beaten and left with horrendous damage to her face and body. She lost her baby that she was carrying at the time. She then went to the Masjid for support and for assistance. She was told to go home and be a good Muslim wife. She was told: “Muslims don’t go to the Government for assistance”.

The abuser was spoken to by individuals at the Masjid, and nothing else was done. The same abuser remarried and beat another Muslim sister and her daughter also. Both went to the hospital and unfortunately, the brother was not arrested!

I too have been in court for a situation dealing with a female and I know that it is not always what it may seem to be from the women’s point of view. I lost my job and apartment due to the incident. In court I agreed to have the restraining order placed against me because I didn’t know I could have placed one against her until later. But, this was the tool that kept her from seeing me which kept me from being a victim of her promiscuous mind games.

My mother was beaten until she became paralyzed by my father. I have always and will always be an advocate for women, children, disabled people and elderly people who are abused!

We at Al Maidah Inc. are organizing this petition to strategize against all Faith-Based organizations that do not support against Domestic Violence, Child Abuse and Elderly Abuse! Let me be clear by what I mean as SUPPORT!

This petition is designed to specifically affect Faith Based institutions who have seemed to slide under the radar from responsibility to the community of women, children and the elderly in these issues of importance yet, who enjoy the benefits of their Tax-Exempt status.

We have in front of us right now, a generation of Domestic Violence, Sexual Abuse and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder survivors called......children....and it is still growing!
