The transit authority just confirmed they are abandoning the plans to reroute the 660 through Wildhorse Parkway. I am so relieved our neighborhood streets will stay safe and quiet for our families. We should stay alert to ensure they keep their word but for now we have won.

VIA Community Meeting would like to receive public input regarding a proposed rerouting of the Route 660 Detour. To keep the route on schedule, VIA would like to gather comments on changing the detour to operate on Wildhorse Parkway between Shaenfield and Braun Road until the construction on Loop 1604 is complete.

The meeting will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at the North West Church of Christ Fellowship Hall, 9681 W. Loop 1604 North.

Please sign this petition if you DO NOT want the potential VIA 660 reroute driving through Wildhorse Parkway.

Seeing this kind of momentum confirms that I am not the only one worried about the safety of our neighborhood streets. My kids play near that parkway and your support proves that we are united in protecting our quiet community. Let us keep this pressure on the people making these decisions.

Public buses do not belong on residential streets. This change would bring noise, pollution, a decrease in property value, and an increase in an already congested traffic flow by Kreuger Elementary, the traffic circle and trying to turn left from WHP onto Shaenfield Rd.

The bus should continue on its current route and not through Wildhorse Pkwy. This is not something I want through my neighborhood. Traffic through this area is already congested during school hours.

Another issue is the wear/tear to wildhorse....whenevers it rains they are having to fix pot holes on wildhorse already.

Is Via going to be paying to resurface the road after they are done? How do we know that this will not become a permanant route? Will they be doing trash cleanup/graffitti removal around these temporary stops?

I see numerous problems with this proposal: the traffic at the Braun turn, the school stop sign/circle, and especially the uncontrolled left turn into shaenfield. We don't know how many buses, what hours, or if there are planned stops with wild horse. They should just route the detour to 1560 where there is light controlled turns.

Much of the morning and evening commuter traffic is already retorting through our neighborhood. Please do not make it even worse. Only way I would consider it if the 4 way stop sign at Appaloosa Bay/Wildhorse Parkway was removed due to thee horrendous one way back ups there in the morning and a green light turn signal to turn right at the light on Braun/Wildhorse Parkway was installed to speed up the major slow downs caused by school buses not going right at red.

This is already a high traffic area. I do not want to see this in my neighborhood. Please don't put that even if it's just temporarily!
