Proposed apartment complex in Stonewall Neighborhood

I most definitely disagree with the apartment complex building plans. Please take a moment to stop and consider the economical impact in regards to property values and overall aesthetics of one of Lexington's most desired neighborhoods.

We just moved to Stonewall from a neighborhood with apartments nearby. We are heartbroken about this!

Much if not all this land is floodplain and is swampy wet for days after any significant rain. It is damp in all but the driest weather. Development will take this natural retention area away resulting in greater flooding and erosion of the confluence of the South Elkhorn Creek. Because of the cover and moisture the area is a significant urban wildlife area that provides cover for deer, raccoons and other small mammals which in turn keep a small population of raptors in the area. The development three story building is not in keeping with the housing in the area and would significantly reduce the privacy of homes on Longwood.

The math here speaks for itself. What is being proposed here is a zone change to build high density housing in a single home large lotted neighborhood. 7 acres in stonewall is 14 families not 48. The effect on wildlife and the building on a flood plain has dire consequences. Flooding will increase if the water has nowhere to go. Pollution will increase. It's a no brainer and it should not be allowed to happen.

Very opposed to an apartment complex being proposed at Higbee & Cornwall.

This development would destroy the home of wildlife as well as devalue Stonewall neighborhood.
