The children of Meadow Glen, for over a decade, have had nowhere to play/hangout, and thus resort to playing in the streets. Numerous complaints have been filed against children running through backyards, biking across driveways, invading the personal spaces of many. Ford Court is filled daily with children running across the road, getting in the way of incoming traffic. The reason for this is due to the lack of an area to take children to play. The "playground" and the tennis court cater to very specific groups, so after a certain age, if the pool is not open, you are left with nowhere to throw a ball around with a friend, or do a cartwheel in the grass without crashing into someone's grill. We would like to propose the construction of a recreational field, with a set of swings and a basketball hoop, perhaps behind Barr Lane where the pond is, where children are allowed to play without getting onto the property of other homeowners, or disturb the traffic on the streets. This field could also double as a picnic field, and have numerous other purposes, making itself useful not only to the children, but to the community as a whole.
