It is time we do a reckoning of expenses, that are associated with controllable expenses.. 5 percent cut is not enough. Use an outside consultant to bring visibility to stupid spending.

My property tax went up $1500 we were told. Stop this madness, the roads suck, there’s not much beautification in this town...tired of paying high wages!!!

These cuts are not enough. I would like 10% across the board, if not 20%. That should be completely doable.
