Promote Fortville's Diversity in New Residential Construction
1. To allow Fortville Community Growth and Development by changes to outdated County and Town Zoning Codes.
2. To support existing character & diversity as a compass for present and future residential building construction.
3. To disallow the narrow governmental view of what is considered "preserving the historical character of the Town of Fortville". We agree that the historical character is the sum total of all residential building construction that exists currently to 2017.
No residences within the Town of Fortville are registered "historical" as governed by a reflected historical society or foundation registered in the State Of Indiana.
4. To allow modern day families and residents to have (2) car attached garages in the front of their homes in residential zones.
5. We agree to remove the 45% limit in garage to face of residence formula for approval of building permits within the Town of Fortville in zones where home construction is permitted. We agree that evidence of non-enforcement has existed for about 4 years or more, within the municipal boundaries including the "Old Fortville Boundaries"
6. To agree that these changes promote health, wellness, and safety of the community and place no additional burden on government to allow.
7. We agree that the above items represent a matter of fact that without acceptance will impair the future growth of the Fortville Community.
8. We agree this petition does not include all aspects of needed town growth and development and therefore request the jurisdictional cooperation of Hancock County to redevelop new guidelines that fit Fortville within its future potential as well as its full past history.
