We, in our neighborhood, need to have a more singular message. We either support and embrace nightlife activity, or we don't. I do, feeling that balance can be achieved with thoughtful, open, inclusive participation where everyone has equal weight. Many of us know that the only way to displace illicit activity/populations (I'm not talking about law-abiding homeless) is to bring people and social activities to the area. I am very happy to see this petition being supported by our local elected officials! We should all offer our assistance in the interest of our community which I believe is "Honolulu's Most Colorful Neighborhood!"

Chinatown's eclectic mix of culture old and new, music and markets, food and festivals, prophets and poets is what makes it the best urban experience Oahu has to offer. Keep it living and evolving. Don't suffocate it.

The Chinatown day/nightlife has grown tremendously within the last decade. My family and I have experienced many cultural events and block parties here. Last year's Mardi Gras was off the hook with the floats, entertainment and booths. I was so excited when this Mardi Gras came around. My first and only disappointment was with Mardi Gras 2015. I missed seeing all the booths / performers / stages / etc. If more sponsors could partake in providing events like this along with the existing businesses within the area, this would defintiely be a win-win situation. I know it would be more than just me and my family that are willing to spend locally for our family and friends with food, trinkets, etc. Keep these events growing!

As a Graphic Designer who is supported and also supports these events, I fully believe Chinatown needs the Arts, entertainment, and dedicated business owners to look over a wonderfully historical place. The noise from clubs is nothing compared to feeling unsafe. These people who work and live down here help to tip the scales toward safely and comfort for everyone. They are the eyes and ears of Chinatown. The police should help take care of making it a safe area, not just hand out jay-walking tickets and answer to noise complaints. Getting harassed by addicts and lowlifes is a bigger issues for women than anything else down here. Please help keep the arts, food, entertainment, and nightlife alive.

As a Graphic Designer who is supported and also supports these events, I fully believe Chinatown needs the Arts, entertainment, and dedicated business owners to look over a wonderfully historical place.
