Final supporters
As students enrolled in class with Professor Lenford Smith we are concerned with the quality of our education. The majority of our class feels we are not performing to the best of our abilities and it is in large part due to the performance of our professor.
Problems with Professor Lenford Smith throughout the semester:
Consistently late to classDishonors commitments to students: showed up 30 minutes late to study session for Exam III (04/17/14), repeatedly promises to be in office at times and fails to show up, Failed to to post review answers for exams I and II (week of 02/14/14 and week of 03/21/14), promises to post materials to BlackBoard and does not do it
Extreme lack of availability: unavailable during syllabus defined office hours, does not respond to students emails
Repeatedly canceled class with no notice: Canceled class several times including dates (02/10/14 and 02/12/14)
Does not use class time effectively: goes off topic, limited problems
Improper allocation of resources: does not post exam reviews timely, does not post exam review answers, gave out departmental the day before it was due with no guidelines, rubric or information
Solution options for current students:
Drop the lowest test grade for each individual studentAdjust class grading scale by 10%
Give retakes of exam(s) or replacement exam(s)
An extra credit exam or assignment for significant points
Give students an incomplete alongside their grade with the option to retake test(s) with next crop of students
Solutions to prevent repeat or similar situations:
Remove Professor Smith from the Accounting DepartmentStress the importance of professor availability to students
Stress the importance establishing a line of communication between professors and students
Consistency in grading and teaching amongst professors in the department
Require all professors post all available departmental resources on BlackBoard

I have compiled the recurring complaints regarding syllabus violations and submitted a formal report to the department head. We are currently awaiting a verification of these documentation logs before requesting a sit down session with the administration.

The volume of support has secured us a formal meeting with the department head later this week. I am currently finalizing the document that outlines our specific grievances and proposed solutions to present during that session.

This guy is a joke. I sat in the hall for an hour during his office hours last week and he never showed up. Waste of tuition money.
Complaint: my aunt passed away in the middle of the semester. I went to class to inform smith that I would have to take the makeup exam for the 2nd test (that was already being given a week late), He proceeded to tell me that my aunts death wasn't important enough to miss an exam. He then allowed another student to miss that same exam to attend a conference for the weekend.

IM TIRED OF SHOWING UP TO A LOCKED CLASSROOM. he just canceled again today with no email nothing. ridiculous.
