"The ed-SPLOST 4 Vote was March 19th, 2013." (cobbk12.org) Included in this SPLOST vote over a year and a half ago was the agreement to upgrade the Earl Reece Theatre at Pebblebrook High School. SPLOST money was promised to improve our lighting and sound system which is falling apart day by day. These unsafe working conditions impact every performer, technician, teacher, and student that enters the stage door. A door that is, literally, falling off the hinges. We are the Cobb County Center for Excellence In the Performing Arts. Excellence is in our name. How does one expect students to produce excellence when they have less than excellent resources? Help CCCEPA technicians and performers raise this issue to Cobb County School Board by signing this petition. We all truly appreciate it.

The school board office has agreed to a meeting next week to discuss the outstanding SPLOST allocations for the theater upgrades. I am currently drafting a formal brief that details the current maintenance failures to present during this session.

my school deserves better as the representatives for the performing arts in Cobb county. we are CCCEPA, not CCCPA. Tech is the basis of all shows ever and without a nice home there's no excellence
I am a senior at Pebblebrook in the technical theatre program and we are in dire need of an upgrade.
My daughter drives 50 minutes each way from our home in North East Cobb to attend CCCEPA at Pebblebrook. Pebblebrook is THE PERFORMING ARTS HIGH SCHOOL FOR COBB COUNTY. Many students and their families sacrifice time, sleep, and other activities to attend this school, be trained by the excellent teachers and professionals there and to perform for the Cobb and surrounding communities. This school should house the hallmark theater in the County. The County should ensure that these dedicated students, who live and breathe performing arts, have the best of the best. CCCEPA should receive funds for renovations ahead of any other Cobb County School.
Schools shouldn't be denied funds, especially when they were already told when they were going to get it.
This is a serious matter to bring attention to, as many of the Cobb county high schools have a new theater built for them with new equipment that they're unable to comprehend to the extent and usage we do.
I love the CCCEPA Program! I can't imagine it falling apart

It's really quite tragic to hear the theatre in which I, along with many other bright and talented people, spent much of our time now has a for need of repair and renovation. CCCEPA has made a huge impact in many lives and at the very least, deserves a theatre in which students and faculty can be safe when doing something for which they have passion.
