To Whom it may concern,

We are asking you to consider the civil right of voting. You may or may not be aware that when one commits a civil infraction in Michigan (among other states) and is then incarcerated, they loose their right to vote while they are incarcerated. We would like you to take moment to consider that those who are incarcerated are still affected by the decisions that happen outside of prison walls. Those who are incarcerated are still people and a poor decision should not negate their opinions on who can be decision makers where they live.

We are asking that you sign this petition so that we can pass it on to those in public office. We would also appreciate it if you would consider contacting your state representatives and senators about the issue of prisoners right to vote. People who are incarcerated should have the right to affect the decisions that effect them. We are advocating on their behalf because we believe that everyone should have equal opportunities. Please consider joining us in advocacy on the behalf of those who are incarcerated by contacting your representatives and senators.

Kind Regards,

Whitney Krieger and Natalie Johnston
