Princeton Supports Occupy Wall Street
We, members of the Princeton University community, hereby state our solidarity with and support for the NYC General Assembly, also known as the movement to Occupy Wall Street, and other similar groups in cities around the United States and the world (http://nycga.cc/2011/09/30/declaration-of-the-occupation-of-new-york-city/). Although we are privileged to attend this institution, we recognize that the complex interrelationships between government, financial interests, and repressive social regimes have resulted in extraordinary and increasing inequalities that are destroying our world economically, socially, ecologically and culturally. We have come to realize that hope and change cannot be left to political parties, government organizations, or elected officials in general. We therefore stand with the peaceful and potentially transformative movement to occupy Wall Street.
