Steroid usage in professional sports can have dire consequences on the athletes and their loyal fans. Not only are the athletes harming themselves but are also leading a bad example to the people who look up to them. The goal of this petition is to implement further guidelines to the existing policies in professional sports. The first is to implement a year suspension from the sport after an athletes' first offense. A lifetime ban will be imposed after an athletes' second offense. The second policy will be to have the athletes who have violated the drug policy give mandatory lectures to high school athletes on the dangers of steroid use. The lectures will be given by the athlete during their suspension period. Athletes who receive the lifetime ban will also be required to give lectures and failure to do so will result in fines until the athlete completes their community service.
