We have enough problems in our small town. Don't shift the problem to another town. Fix the problem don't pass it on. This is not a solution.

Absolutely NO, sort it out at the source, don't create another problem by moving it.

I don't think it is suitable to relocate them to Illovo as in my opinion it will just be bring in more crime into our areas.

We live in the area of Lower Illovo and what security will we have to prevent any crime that now presents itself with regards to these homeless people. There are reasons for them being homeless and 9 out 10 times it's due to drugs and alcohol, where will they now beg for money as there are no shops or robots near by which means they will need to get into other dealings for their next fix. There are children that walk around daily to school and home, what safety are they offered, and the other people who walk to work and home in the area? Come on, be realistic, once they have destroyed the area and the crime has increased they won't stick around long and will just make a way back to cbd...so how is the problem then resolved, it is now even worse

Safety is important and consultation with the community is imperative

This is so unfair to the residents who have lived in this suburb for many generations. Their safety will be greatly at risk if you go ahead with your unilateral decision.

We don't want them here, why does the Durban mayor always send them down south, send them inland where they can't abuse anyone

Lower illovo is a residential area. We do not need an increase in crime that this type of "housing " will bring. It is obvious that no proper planning and or investigation was made in this decision. This area is no a dumping ground for Ethekweni's mismanagement.

There is nothing constructive for them to do in the area and therefor they will beg and steal in Toti

If the vagrants are moved to Lower Illovo, then it will run down not only the community of Lower Illovo but also the surrounding areas. The surrounding towns will be overrun with beggars, and our area will become like the Durban CBD! During the festive season, which brings income for many local businesses, our coastal towns will see no tourists or holidaymakers because of the backlash this new homeless shelter will cause.

No, I stand against this decision. These individuals may resort to crime in our area to fund their habits and needs.
