Keep it Kosher!! There obviously seems to be a bigger problem here than the kosher food. We might solve the kosher food problem and go on to the next problem with this administration. If Kosher food bothers them , when kosher food has not been a problem for establishments serving kosher then maybe we need to focus on the Bigger picture. It has always been the story of our darling brothers and sisters that want to or have assimilated that they show it through such actions. Well, it didn't help them during WW11 as the fires of Auschwitz did not differentiate between the religious or the self hating Jew. They were killed if they ate kosher or not. We still love you , our secular brothers and sisters!! You just need to sit down, open your eyes, learn from the unfortunate horrific teacher of all mankind. His name was Hitler. He didn't make a difference...... But you can.....by staying true to your traditions and Torah values, one of it is eating Kosher, you are showing respect for yourself. When a non-Jew sees that a Torah Jew stays true to his tradition for so many years he has more respect to him than to a Self hating Jew that strays away from his values and flaunts it by purposely serving Non-Kosher at venues where Kosher should be served. I hope we can come to a amicable solution and peace should prevail as ultimately we are all Family!!! Sara Stern

This is a disgraceful action taken by the Y. I will no longer attend any classes or lectures unless the Y rescinds its decision.

It is sad enough if privately many Jews are not observing the Torah's laws of kashrut, but to do this publicly, in a "Jewish" institution, is disgraceful.

Very disturbing... You are automatically excluding a large group of Jews to a Jewish event! This doesn't just include orthodox Jews; this includes so many different types of Jews, secular and traditional Jews who observe the laws of kashrut. What is worse is that you are setting a disgraceful precedent to Jews and non-Jews, all over, and basically advertising assimilation. Isn't it enough what is going on in the world right now, anti-Semitism, assimilation, etc? Does a Jewish institution want to be a part of this? This is how it all begins... This is ugly and shameful. I hope that someone in the administration opens up their eyes and does the right thing. I was considering rejoining your institution in some way, but now, unfortunately, you made my decision for me. You have no idea the negative impact and harm you will incur as a result of this very poor decision. Please reconsider not just for all the Jewish people you are excluding, but actually for your future, your survival. Thank you, Ariella Mechoullam
