Why does the world not wanna learn anymore. Today the specialized programs are being phased out. Tomorrow same would happens with basic maths and science courses.

I have been running a successful entertainment company for 16 years and have never worked a job outside of the arts. None of that would have been possible without The Etobicoke School of the Arts.

This is a serious matter and a huge mistake. Each individual has specific needs and ways to satisfy them. Canada's force rises exactly from the educational system. This change would destroy exactly the core principles of the Canadian culture and tradition regarding diversity and would lead to a destructive uniformity that would result in amorphous generations without valuable, distinctive and distinguished personalities, easily manipulable. Do not experience on our children! They are not guinea pigs. Analyze the result of historical worldwide experiences - communism, dictatorship, slavery, etc. Whoever does not know history, risks repeating it. I am strongly against removing of any specialized program. Children have different learning styles and need safe places to express themselves. Keep, maintain and develop educational specialized programs.

Please do not cancel tops , gifted and IB program. If Canada wants to be strong we need to have these special good smarter students trained when they are young.

If this is the plan then end ALL specialized programs including french immersion and gifted.

I am really disturbed that the tab wants to destroy schools that have built talented and successful artists. This move will destroy so many artists like me who thrive in a specialized school like ESA. The arts are a vital part of education and by this move you would be taking my passion and dream for learning away.

Don’t be silly TDSB! kids need the special programs, and as parents we pay the tax every year, and it is your responsibility to provide matched educational environment for each kids. Don’t push us to the side of private school, don’t ruin the education!!

Leave specialty programs alone. They are rare and unique, and offer exceptional education delivered by exceptional, specially selected and trained staff.

Specialized arts programs are essential to future generations of artists. Phasing them out is in no way equitable, nor is it the right way to make the arts more accessible.

I'm a visual arts major at Etobicoke School of the Arts, I believe it would be better for the admission processes for auditions and optional attendances to improve the diversity rates so that every race, social and economical class can be accepted. I have friends right now who go to ESA that are from racialized neighbourhoods.

Canada and Toronto need more creative programs like ESA, Claude Watson and more. If there is inequity then let's fix that, but not by tearing down what is a strength, but by building up what is weakness.

The Claude Watson Program was a significant part of my high school experience. It is the reason I attended Earl Haig and in my opinion enhances the school in tremendous ways. Earl Haig will not be the same without the program.
