This would be such a regressive move on the part of the TDSB in keeping with the insanity we are seeing in the politics of our neighbours in the USA. Students in these programs also have special needs that are being met by the status quo. Leave these programs alone!

This is the most rediculous proposal I have heard in years. Why not get rid of exceptionally good teachers as well to even the playing field down to the lowest common denominator.

As a graduate from Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts, I could never support an act to phase out the very thing that fuelled my motivation and enjoyment throughout high school.

Being that both my siblings went to a specialized school, I can see how important it is to kids that have been doing something their whole life, that they continue to do so in an environment that is also academically challenging.

This "Equity Task" looks like just a disguise for a next school budget cut.

As a graduate from The Etobicoke School of the Arts, and I couldn't have asked for a better high school experience. I'm endlessly grateful for the experience, and I would be absolutely gutted if specialized art schools like ESA were cut. Art benefits everyone, and making it more accessible at multiple levels is a better solution than cutting it completely.
