Support specialized programs & schools made possible by optional attendance!

As an ib graduate I wholeheartedly believe in the program and it’s values. Having specialized school programs allows every students needs to be met.

The specialized programs provide a very good opportunity to the kids who are talented and hard working to pursue their dream. This world needs those kids to be the leaders in different area in the future, and make people life better. It is good for everyone.

Don't u dare phase out specialized programs. They're wonderful and all the kids that attemd a specialized school will agree

Without the safe space offered to me, and many others I know by the exstistance of specialized programs, many students would be left in much darker a place then thy are currently. I know many people who go to "noramal" high schools and not one of them had ever said they feel like they have had in adequate, or less equal education to myself or anyone attending a specialized school. We all take pride in our schools, regardless or the program we are in. The TDSB taking away specIalized programs is not making anything equal, it is taking away an education from a child who may otherwise have no interest in school, but continues attending because of their passion. It is. It evening the playing field, it is simply makeing life easier for those at the TDSB who don't approve of specIalized schools.

Equity means the quality of being fair and impartial. It means to support objectivity, balance and open-mindedness. This means to provide various opportunities to all students who will be able to choose what they really want among the wide range of available programs. So why are you going to phase out so many excellent programs like TOPS, ESA, IB, ... which proved over the years their great impact on our society, communities and future of our children?

Claude Watson program has a enriching vibrant and encouraging program. It is a jewel for the tdsb.

This is not needed. Why can’t kids be happy!!

The arts are a unique way of knowing. All of our children deserve a well rounded education.

Taking away more opportunities for students simply so the higher ups can make extra bank is a disgusting and shameful thing. Keep the specialized programs! If you want to save money so badly perhaps look into lowering the salary of those at the top of the food chain.

Yet another fine example of putting a budget before the children. How does cutting benefits to our children, our future, help anyone?

We need these specialized schools & programs to bring out the full potential of our children!!!

I attended ESA and it absolutely shaped who I am not only as an artist; but as a compassionate, critically thinking and open minded human being. Programs like this are absolutely essential to the health and well being of the education system and future fabric of Toronto’s cultural community.

I am not okay with phasing out specialized programs like Arts Programs, STEM programs, IB programs or Gifted programs

I was a student at ESA and the experience that I had immersed in music education during my secondary school education was instrumental to who I am today.

Please do not make the mistake of removing specialised programs. Children learn differently, "equitable" opportunity means that children must have the option to learn in schools that suit their individual learning style and capacity if they are to have the same opportunity to thrive as traditional learners do!

Please save our society's future by keeping these specialized programs! While we are envying the success, innovation and competitiveness of the Nordic countries, we should keep in mind how much they have been investing in their education system on the specialized programs in STEAM disciplines of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. These specialized programs are our coping strategy, like the Nordics, to give us the edge in the global competition. These enriched programs are the pillars holding our society's future, and they also provide our children an environments to reach their potentials, and to reward our future society in return! Save the edge of our competitiveness on the global arena! Save the specialized programs! Save our future!

Specialized programs should not be cancelled. They give a chance for high achievements that contribute to Canada's prosperity.
