Ryan has such amazing talent as I'm sure so many other children do that go to these schools. It would be a real shame for them to lose such great programs....

Let's see, a university like Oxford does not recognize Academic level courses. It does recognize IB. So, are our students getting screwed again! We need more special programs, not none! Ontario's really in the dinosaur age.

If the TDSB's desire is to produce the next generation of mediocrity, then by all means phase out speciality schools and programs. But if their desire is to engage and inspire excellence in their students, eliminating them would be a disaster.

Equity is about more choice not less. Children in the private school sector have more choice for specialized programming. This is a huge step backwards. I question who's interests are really being served by slashing these programs.

This would be an incredible disgrace to the arts community, as Toronto has some of the best training programs in Canada.. I am appalled this petition has even been brought to light.

The tdsb should stop trying to make everyone the same and allow them to shine their brightest.
The tdsb should celebrate our children's strengths and continue to offer unique environments e.g. Claude Watson where students can engulf themselves in what they love. This is what can make amazing talented future Canadians.

The rosedale heights art program saved my life. I attempted suidude twice before grade 9, and would have probably tried again if it weren't for the love, hope, and creativity I fostered in their program. Youth need quality education that empowers their mind and spirit

Phasing out these specialized programs will not create equity. Etobicoke School of the Arts is a safe space for many LGBTQ youth and those students who might not have felt that they "fit in" with mainstream education.

I was an inner-city youth traveling an hour+ everyday to attend the Claude Watson Arts Program at Earl Haig because I wanted to nurture my interests and could easily express myself through drama and dance. It made me feel valued and gave me the confidence to pursue my dreams. It would be a shame if you took that opportunity away from kids. Please reconsider the impact this will have!
