we actually did it and the course is staying exactly how it is. thank you for having my back when salient tried to steamroll us. i am going to keep a close eye on plans for the park but for now we won.

Final supporters
Salient has bypassed the local disc golf club as well as Orangeburg Parks and Recreations to remodel the Orangeburg disc golf course. The local club has worked and invested it's own money into this course. Please help to prevent this from happening.

It is the right of the people who developed the course to have final say on changes to the course. They took the time to create something that we could enjoy as fellow disc golfers. I believe that it would be wrong to surpass them solely because you have the money to do so.
I know, first hand, how hard clubs and individuals, in a DG community, work. If a company is a true advocate for the sport and area growth, they would work with the community, not against.
It is not good to go in and rework a course without permission. Especially one as well liked as Orangeburg. Let the local club with the blessing of the city make changes if they see the need.
Though I live elsewhere now, this is my home course. I am hurt and appalled by this. I learned to play there and I can't understand how this can be allowed to happen. Thank you all for your support
They have no right to just step in and make changes. They do not own the property and should first make sure to have the local clubs approval and agreement before approaching the city recreation department to get proper approval to make changes.
I do not support the remodeling. Don't do it!
I agree with all comments about Salient's bad reputation from first-hand experience. They seem to have very little respect for the game - much less the heritage that made the sport what it is today.

Using a company with as poor of a reputation as salient discs while getting no input from local players or the club is not a good way to go about this project. Chris Kilgus is alienating the local community and will make successful events in Orangeburg much less likely.
