Please do not remove the Memorial! "Peace be to the noble dead, whose blood made scared the cause for which they fell."

this is my heritage not about racism for me and many others. I think it's a ridiculous why all of a sudden ? This is a Historical Monument and should be treated as such. You can't change History or erase it.

Yes, let's take a stand now! This is NOT about the flag, and it's NOT about racism or slavery. It IS about history, valor and heritage. It IS about preserving our FREEDOMS that are clearly expressed in the First and Ninth Amendments of the U.S. Constitution. We CANNOT allow revisionists and "PC" to become a movement like the Brown Shirts of Nazi Germany, who in their zeal, burned books, banned symbols of the Weimer Republic, and after the SS took over yanked tombstones out of the cemeteries. The vast majority of the men who fought for the Confederacy never owned even one slave, the people of the agrarian south were mainly poor. The industrialized north were far better off, and controlled prices of raw materials and agriculture products that the south produced. YES what the south did with secession was wrong and violated the Constitution. However we must recognize the Civil War and ALL of it's causes (including slavery) and not allow it to be erased.

The Confederate War was not about slavery. I assure you that my dirt poor for-fathers were not salve owners. They however wanted to keep their rights as southerners as now we do. Civil War all over again. Squash anyone who doesn't agree.

This Memorial is part of our Southern history. The men who fought & died had the courage of their convictions. I believe slavery is wrong, however, the Civil War is part of our Amerian history. If we start removing the bars & stars, Confederate monuments, etc, where & when will it stop? This is still afree country, is it not? Nathan Bedford Forrest Memorial, as I understand, is in question of being removed also. His stritegat battle plans are still in use today. We must stand up for our heritage, good or bad. These men were heroes in there day. Keep the Confederate monument in place!
