This monument and the Confederate Battle Flag is a part of the Southern history and must remain to help lay tribute to the many who fell supporting their beliefs, This again is an example of the few dictating their incorrect belief over the majority. This monument and the Flag has no meaning of hatred or racial overtones, If in the future one of these nuts who kill people decides to place an American flag behind him I guess we will them have to remove all traces of what the American Flag means.. Again a few dictating their belief to the many.

Blacks are the ones that keep HATE in our history . Slavery was not an issue until Jan 1863 but the left uses all our histories to keep folks against each other for their votes. Do some reading for the real causes of the War. People remain ignorant and poor as this govt. has created a culture of people that don't have to work, that monument has nothing to do with it! Ethnic cleansing won't stop with our Confederate history, Ole Glory flew over slavery for 89 years and our Founding Fathers were slave owners so guess there are next. Get over it and become productive citizens!

I don't agree with the removal of confederate flags or monuments. It's part of history what are they trying to do, make history disappear.

History is not correctable by political correctness. It is what it is, a symbol of the history of not only the South, but of the United States. The flag has been flying for 150 years, and it has never made or caused a demented person or people to cause harm to another. Evil lives in the minds and hearts of people, not a piece of colored cloth that is a symbol of our storied history. May God Bless America!

I am from the north so the statue does not offend me and it should not offend any one else. That war was over 175 yrs ago non of us were even around then.

Keep our states heritage. People get to offended these days. It's been there for years if you don't like it don't look at it. Simple. Uh I'm offended that I get labled a racist just because I'm white. Wth???

Southerners hold on to their confederate symbols not for hate but for Southern pride. Those not from the south will not understand. It is a shame that a few have connected these symbols with racial hate.
