More Police resources are needed to combat the rise in burglaries, with many areas very difficult to Police, unmarked Police cars would be a great help i am sure.

Break in Crimes continues to rise in areas where expats are living or have holiday homes, one of the reasons we chose to live in Cyprus was due to the low crime rate but unfortunately that’s changing and more resources should be allocated to combat this rise

The government and local police forces (especially in the Paphos region) need to recognise that the rise in crime is putting people off living in Cyprus. The low crime rate was a big reason that contributed to many people deciding on Cyprus as a place to retire. The crimes affect holiday makers not just permanent residents and if the crime continues to rise then the only tourists that will visit the island will be those staying in hotels which will seriously impact the local economies - the loss of trade will be felt by local businesses such as bars and tavernas. Do something to change the level of resources and the attitude of the police force to crimes of theft/house burglary.

It is imperative to allow more funds towards the fight against crime. The resources available now seem too limited and not adequate.
