Prevent Barratt/Redrow from destroying St Fagans woodland
Barratt/Redrow wants to install traffic lights on Pentrebane Road for 4-5 YEARS. They also plan to destroy woodland for their construction route - even though a road through their existing development already exists!
They will be removing numerous trees within a designated conservation area, and transporting materials, causing major disruption to wildlife and the community who use it, as well as taking green space from one of our nearby fields.
The developer has put no plan in place to replant or restore the trees they will destroy. There has been no traffic assessment carried out for how 4-5 years of traffic lights will impact Pentrebane Road, no consideration for additional pollution, noise or how the residents from 1e/1f will get in and out of their estate. There has been no consideration for how plant machinery is expected to turn and move through the small country lane, this will likely mean the destruction of more trees to widen the lane.
The residents who have signed this petition are not expert planners, or well versed in such matters of the law. We are concerned residents who strongly oppose to this new plan in its whole. Please note that we are not opposed to the development of new houses, just the inexcusable plan to destroy woodland when there is a perfectly valid road to use nearby
Please take the time to look at the planning application and object on the Cardiff Council planning website if you wish, and please sign our petition!
