I am petitioning Nickelodeon to change the parental ratings on their pre-teen shows such as iCarly, Victorious, Big Time Rush, to a minimum of Y7 if not TV-14. Currently they are rated G, Spongebob has a rating then these shows do and it's animated. In order to prevent my three & five year old from accessing these shows I have to block the entire Nick channel (all of them with cable) and put in my parental code for them to watch shows like Dora, Spongebob, Backyardigans, etc. I cannot just block the rating because then I block out appropriate G rated shows that they can watch. The issue here is these shows are preteen shows and they need a preteen rating, they not directly promoting sex, but they deal with preteen issues and preschoolers don't need to see kissing and things that go on in middle school & high school in a television show that comes on right after their favorite shows. Please sign this if you're a parent that agrees the rating needs to be higher on these shows.
