The city council has officially rejected the high-density development proposal for Westdale Village. This outcome preserves the low-rise character we fought to protect and serves as a testament to what happens when neighbors gather around a shared vision. We will remain observant as future plans are drafted to ensure they …
The proposed 6 story development will eliminate the privacy and sunlight of Glen rd. Residences completely. 6 stories backing onto residential houses is a terrible idea.

Westdale is a unique planned, walkable community that needs to be preserved. Overdevelopment strains the infrastructure, affects the flow of traffic and parking availability.
Also, some consideration should be given to making apartment living available in Westdale to all ages not just students.

Our roads, Parking and general infrastructure can’t take an intensification. Building over 3 stories will destroy the town. I appreciate that the proposed buildings are aesthetically interesting, but the people will be looking down into the now-shaded yards of the surrounding homes. Uncomfortable all around.

Westdale density should not change along the LRT corridor. Three or four stories should be the maximum height. Not 6, 18 or 22 stories. One parking spot should be dedicated to each tenant or unit, none of this student housing with no parking. They have parents and friends visiting where do they park?

We have resided on Glen road for over 35 years and in our opinion this development will destroy the village we live in and will open the door for more high rise developments. We wish to keep Westdale our quaint little village.

The 3 storey limit is sensible for so many reasons. Please, dear City of Hamilton council & developers, honour it and preserve the unique, family-friendly feel of Westdale.
