Preserve Thomaston Dam off road use

These are some of the best legal riding trails around including a netra race held there,please keep it available to all of us to ride

I was a member of Pathfinders Dirt Bike Club for several years who help maintain the trails there. I also created & ran “k.o.r.p.” Kids Off Road Program for 9 years. With the blessing of Army Corsp, volunteers and sponsors we provided a safe foundation program to teach proper riding skills and fundamentals with kids and their parents which set up the family and kids future for success. Several graduates from our program went on to become Eagle Scouts. In 2003 Suzuki USA awarded me with “Best Rider Education Program in USA” Please DO NOT TAKE this unique SAFE location away from KIDS and RIDERS WHO WANT TO DO THE RIGHT THING!

There is plenty of room for everyone behind the dam. That was Thomaston land take by the Federal government when the dam was built. The bikers like to ride thru the woods. The roads there are plenty wide for all.

I am against this closing to motorized off road use. I come down from Maine several times a year with my family. To ride your trails and spend money camping and eating and I am not the only one that travel from out of state to ride your trails

Riders for repeal founder affirms that riding is good for everyone. Keep the kids busy without doing drugs.

Please don't take this away from us who love and respect this area of our state. Owner of a BMW 1200 GS enduro.

More OHV opportunities are needed, not less. The rise in OHV enthusiasts has grown in the past few years and there needs to be adequate trails and opportunities for the rise in enthusiasts.

I am against the closing of this area for motorized off road use.

Keep the trail open to offroad vehicles. We have almost no places left, and this is a legal place.

There are more than enough walking paths in the state of CT!!

We have enough “walking paths” in Connecticut, yet nowhere to safely ride ATVs.

The federal seasonal Thomaston Dam with a few miles of trails is the only legal place in the entire State of Connecticut for entire family's to enjoy motorized off road motorcycle riding recreation. CT. General Statute 23-26c from 1986 has not worked, small state exclusion. Please don't take this single location away from us to replace it with more walking trails added to the thousands of mile already in state.

Save our only place to ride !

There are many wonderful walking and hiking areas but few legal ridiing areas left.

Please do not eliminate or reduce one of the very few areas in CT we pay taxes to ride. Or, eliminate property tax for off road bikes if there is no where to ride.
