Protect and Preserve The Citrus Sub-Area's Residential Character!

Please retain the residential status of the northeast corner of McKellups and ValVista

I am against this rezoning and wish this corner to remain residential.

I am opposed to the rezoning of the northeast corner of McKellips and Val Vista

My husband and I have sent several letters to the City of Mesa denouncing the Senior home. Please honor the Citrus Sub-Area Plan.

This is a neighborhood with a lot of children who ride bikes and play outdoors. Adding commercial property to this will endanger our children by allowing more traffic and busier streets.

As a homeowner and local real estate broker in this citrus sub-area, I am adding my voice against this! Time has proven that a commercial project of this magnitude will negatively affect our property values significantly. The Mesa General Plan was put into place specifically to protect from this exact situation, and everyone we know here is against the Avanti Senior Living facility at the NE corner of Val Vista & McKellips. The City of Mesa must honor The Plan and the homeowners' wishes, and drop this project. There are plenty of other areas in Mesa this facility can be built, that are already zoned commercial! Please keep Val Vista and McKellips area residential.

I live in the Arboleda neighborhood and grew up in the citrus corridor of Mesa. The 90 room retirement center is not in keeping with the large lot residential low density design of this area. It is not a good fit for the location and shouldn't be approved.

It makes no sense to place a large assisted living facility at this location within the Groves area. There are myriad locations within a relatively close distance that are already zoned for commercial use. It will hurt both the character and the value of the surrounding neighborhoods to replace orange groves with an enormous skilled nursing facility. As someone who currently lives on Val Vista McKellips and is currently building in the same block I am opposed to any change in the current zoning rules.

Please retain the citrus zoning that has been crucial to neighborhood

We do not want Avanti Senior Living to build a facility on the NE corner of Val Vista Drive and McKellips Road. We want the corner to remain zoned residential. We live in the Hermosa Grove community west of McKellips and move here 12 years ago to get away from this type of business in our neighborhood.

Please keep this residential as it was voted on in 2014 by the people of Mesa.

This project is not in agreement with our Citrus Sub Area!! It is like building apartments around the airport Sub-Area!!
