As you all know, our town has been expanding rapidly over the last few years. That is to be expected with such a wonderful place to live. However, it's time for Hopkinton to get ahead of the expansion before the construction stage. We want to be pro-active in housing developments as opposed to re-active, because we believe we should be involved in how our neighborhoods grow and evolve. This is just the start of Hopkinton residents pushing back and stepping in.

A proposal has been submitted to the Planning Board for a new sub-division on 102 acres of land between the center of town and Route 495, just south of West Main Street. This will be the largest residential development in town since Legacy Farms.

The proposal would connect two cul-de-sacs – Chamberlain Street and Whalen Road – to form a thru-way that would create a serious safety issue on roads not designed for thru traffic in neighborhoods with many families of young children. The new roadway would have two wetlands crossings, one of which is very substantial in size. See current conditions on these wetlands: https://abdesignservice.wixsite.com/neighborh-dcoa...

My signature below affirms my opposition to a cut-through and my support for a project that will preserve the character of existing neighborhoods, avoid unnecessary wetlands disturbances, and provide for public safety. My position is in alignment with goals stated in the 2017 Hopkinton Master Plan.
