Dear Bainbridge Island City Council Members,

We support the proposal submitted by the Bainbridge Island Parks District that permanently preserves the Suzuki property as a publicly-owned park. The Suzuki property is home to wetlands, a wildlife corridor, and groves of trees where small sampling efforts have already found 12 trees over 100 years old.

This land is already owned by the citizens of Bainbridge Island and can be preserved as permanent open space without new bond issues or taxes. As large, forested parcels continue to be developed, this is an ideal opportunity to preserve public open space.
