I love both schools. I believe that consolidation is inevitable, but I think RHS and RMS schools should combine and NCHS and SMS should combine.

The schools are what makes RICHWOOD. Why make them go to another place that will not end up in positive results for the school or our students.

I went to a bigger school in another state. I dropped out. I don't want the thought in my head of my children, who will start attending The middle school in 3 years, dropping out. I returned to Richwood High School to finish my education and graduate.

richwood has always had a school there and i think the school should stay in our town yes some of us has move on with our oun lifes but we all have grown up there and we were like a family

Richwood is & always will be home. From the ramp feed & parades & the school bands,athletics all make it worth keeping. The rich heritage, love for one another,the coming together to fight for rebuilding,etc. after everything is so heart warming. If we continue to tear down our buildings in Richwood its going to fall off the face of existance. We need our schools in Richwood. They deserve something bigger,after all the town is & has been declining so much. Maybe it would be a great change if something was to be built to bring in the community & not push out. If you tear down a community you tear down everything it stands for.

FEMA is paying for three new schools to be built. These three smaller schools (or alternately one combined RHS & RMS IN Richwood) & a possibly combined NCMS & NCHS in Summersville is a superior solution. It is one that we all can grow into and grow with. Be optimistic about our future! Our school in Richwood has received honors for its excellence in recent years. Don't let fear and doubt cloud your thinking about what's best for our children! Smaller, hometown schools have been studied to be best for rural students! This data should be a significant part of your decision . Thank you for your thoughtful consideration.
