Keep bikes out of PPP and keep it a place where equestrians of SG co can safely enjoy trails. Take your money and spend on a park on it's own for bikers.

Please keep our park a true nature park. Wichita has enough concrete jungles. Visitors to this park come because it is a nature park, not because they are looking for just another playground for their kids. The nature is their playgroung, a place to get away from city life. Keep bikes away from this park, let vistors enjoy the slow pace of nature the original purpose of this park. Use the funding to enhance the nature experience, perhaps horse friendly updates? I love to see the kids faces when the touch a horse for the first time in their lives. Does seeing a bike amoung nature do this for children or adults? You know the answer......KEEP IT WILD, no bikes and no playground!

I'm an avid cyclist. There is no need for mountain bikes to be tearing up and trashing the park. The City Council already approved funds for additional bike trails. Don't mess with nature.

I am an avid cyclist. I firmly believe that bikes and horses should NOT share the same trails. Moreover, as Pawnee Prairie is the only free urban park open to equestrian activity, I believe it should stay that way. We cyclist have Air Capitol Park. While the access is not perfect to Air Capitol, it is no less inconvenient than access to Pawnee Prairie for the Equestrian groups. They often risk cross town drives with their horses in trailers. Also, Air Capitol is not a park for young children to ride unsupervised. It is disingenuous that Councilman Blubaugh has tried to push for trails through the nature park under that guise. Last, I think there are other districts in the city that would benefit more from the proposed funding for "improvements".

I drive over an hour to trail ride at this park with my children and our horses. I am deeply concerned about safety. our horses are very accustomed to bicycles however they are animals and not machines (like bicycles). I can train any horse to not fear a bicycle in a controlled area however open trails are not controlled so there is no way to completely desensitize the horses. this could be disastetous.

Bicycles could cause a hazard to horses. Horses aren't used to things zipping past them and I'm sure bicycles will as they are faster than horses. Horses are on the trail to enjoy the scenery at a leisurely pace and won't expect a fast moving "silent" object to wiz past. I see this as a hazard to the bicyclist and the horses/riders.

I am against letting bikes into Pawnee Prairie. Even though they are not allowed now, we always see kids in there when we ride. They are rude, tear thru the trails and make it quite dangerous for horse riders. This park was given to horseback riders and hikers. I strongly want it to stay that way. Bikers have the whole rest of the city to ride in and a park designed for them.
